Verification of the Mediating Effect of Grit on the Relationship between the Golf Participants' Mind Set and Exercise Continuity

Won, Young-In

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to verify the mediating effect of grit on the relationship between the golf participants' mind set and exercise continuity. [Method] Hypotheses were verified through multiple regression analysis and hierarchical regression analysis through the spss 22.0 program on the golf participant data collected to derive the results, and the Sobel Test technique was used to verify the indirect effect of the mediating effect. [Results] First, it was found that the golf participants' mindset and grit had a partial influence. Second, mind set and exercise continuity were found to have a partial influence. Third, in the relationship between mind set and exercise continuity, grit was found to have partial and complete mediation effects. [Conclusion] In light of these research results, it was confirmed that it is necessary to present a long-term vision to golf participants and to apply a coaching method that can feel a sense of accomplishment during the performance process.
