[Purpose] Recently, there is an increase of national and international professional golf events in Korea. In order to capture spectators’ attention and expectation and sponsorship sides. [Method] With these backgrounds, the purpose of study is to identify professional golf tournament’s functional areas, and the importance of each functional areas as domestic single sport event category. [Result] Results presented five functional areas: event monitoring and client relations, marketing and public relations, venue and facility, event management, and general affair. Moreover, event monitoring and client relations showed to be the most important followed by venue and facility. [Conclusion] Therefore, there is a need to distribute limited resources to each functional area making efficient and effective sport events.
