[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to verify the relationship among the fencing coach’s authentic leadership, quality of relationship and training attitude perceived by athletes. [Method] 213 samples were collected by a convenience sampling method, which population was fencing athletes who were registered officially to Korean Sport & Olympic Committee in 2023. Among them, 200 samples were analysed and 13 samples were excluded as they were regarded as unreliable. According to the purpose of this study, those were analyzed by frequency, confirmatory factor, reliability, correlation and structure equation model analysis through SPSS Version 21 and Amos 21. [Result] Firstly, fencing coach’s authentic leadership perceived by athletes had an influence on the quality of relationship. Secondly, fencing coach’s authentic leadership perceived by athletes had an influence on the training attitude. Finally, quality of relationship perceived by fencing athletes had an influence on the training attitude. [Conclusion] If coaches set firm values and principles based on authentic and clear self-awareness and improve the quality of relationship with athletes, athletes can trust their coaches and participate in training with all their enthusiasm to form a high training attitude, raising their expectations for improving their performance.
